We collaborated with Oscar-winning designer, Annie Atkins, to create the Hendrick's Zoetrope, a limited edition gift for the most creative and curious minds around the globe.
The Hendrick’s brand is steeped in the unusual and aims to inspire curiosity at every turn. When we were tasked with creating a gift for the Global Brand team to send across the world for Christmas 2019, we immediately thought of long-time Hen’s Teeth collaborator Annie Atkins. Renowned for her work on The Grand Budapest Hotel, her style and attention to detail fits perfectly with the Hendrick’s brand world.
Working closely with Annie, we developed the concept for the Hendrick’s Zoetrope, a unique packaging for a bottle of Hendrick’s Gin. It was encased in Annie’s rose and cucumber-inspired print and based on Victorian early animation devices. Once opened, recipients discovered the Zoetrope (and gin!) inside. Annie’s hand-drawn animations became visible when the user popped the Hendrick’s cork and used it as a handle to spin the device.
We crafted the story of the Hendrick’s Zoetrope – creating a social and press pack with photography, video content and GIFs and writing the gift card in the distinct Hendrick’s tone of voice, press assets and materials. These were then seeded by Hendrick’s Global PR team to international trade and industry media. We chose a list lucky Irish recipients with the Irish brand team. The 40+ local markets then gifted their favourite creatives and influencers with the Zoetropes, just in time for Christmas.
We managed the production of 250 of these bespoke and luxury limited edition gifts from concept development to delivery to more than 40 countries globally.
